Spirit Riding Free: Spirit of Christmas

Spirit Riding Free: Spirit of Christmas is a Spirit Riding Free holiday special released on December 6, 2019.

The special was announced on a Dreamworks Animation Facebook account for the show on November 6, 2019.^[1]

An announcement that a new character, Sally Jessup, played by Kat McNamara, was posted on the Spirit Riding Free Facebook page on November 20, 2019.^[2]

Synopsis[]

Lucky and her friends embark on a Christmas Eve adventure into the city to find the perfect gift, but their return to Miradero for the holiday festivities are ruined when an avalanche derails their plans.^[3]

Mystery is shown eating holly, which is toxic to horses.

Plot[]

It was Christmas time in Miradero. In the town, Lucky was decorating the town with Christmas lights with Spirit and Althea pays her. In the Gutierrez House, Maricela was shaking her gifts under her tree to guess what's in them. At the Stone House, Abigail was making four pies. While she was thinking, Boomerang was munching on them all making Abigail laugh, she gives him a hug. In the barn, Pru was tidying away haystacks, then Al and Fannie come in and give her an elf hat, but she doesn't like it and throws it away once her parents leave. At the inn, Snips was being illiterate writing a letter to Santa, then Señor Carrots comes up and tries to eat it, but Snips yanks it out of his mouth, and it was half eaten. Back in the barn, the PAL were decorating the barn with Christmas decorations and lights. Pru puts a Christmas wreath around Chica Linda's neck. Abigail was looking in the crate and found the elf hat Al gave Pru to. Pru runs up and snatches it from Abigail and tries to sneak away hiding it behind her back. While Lucky was speaking, Pru runs to hide the hat in a sack. Then Lucky and Spirit spot the clock and the PAL were late for a Christmas play they were going to act in along with Maricela, Snips, Turo, Mary Pat, Bianca, Jim and Al. When the PAL arrive, Al scolds them for being late again, then they come up to the others and Jim tells everyone to get their costumes ready. Turo and the PALM were decorating their horses, while Señor Carrots runs around with Snips's costume. When Snips pulls it out, he flies and bumps into Mary Pat, and Señor Carrots runs away with the costume. The twins tell Snips that there's a nice list and a naughty list.

Additional Information[]

Mystery later reappeared in Spirit of Christmas and had at this point became Spirit's love interest, although the PAL remained oblivious. She even puts Spirit out of the way during a bison stampede, which shows how much she cares for him.
