"Lucky and the Doubtful Drought" is the thirty-fourth episode of Spirit Riding Free and the first episode of the sixth season.
Plot synopsis
When hot times hit Miradero, people have to buy water from Grayson. But where does he get his water? The PAL hatch a plan to find out.
Plot
With Miradero suffering a punishing drought, Mr. Grayson gouges the townspeople for water he claims is from the well on his ranch. Suspicious, the PAL investigate, following him to a trail hidden by brush, beyond which they find the river blocked by a landslide of debris. The PAL dislodge the debris with ropes and get the river flowing again, then rescue Governor when the foal gets caught up in the flow of water. Lucky exposes Grayson just as Grayson is about to be honored by the Mayor, but Grayson gets away with his scheme because the landslide was on his land, and he was within his rights to sell the water. Spirit's herd drinks from the newly flowing river and Smoke welcomes Spirit back into the herd to drink with them.
